Sung-Hee Son

In the Mandala Series, repeated square frameworks anchor the canvas, pulling the viewer inward through concentric portals. These geomtric forms act as meditative echoes against the dynamic fields of splattered, layered, and sweeping marks. Across my practice, I am drawn to color as both an emotional and structural force — vivid, layered, and alive. These works explore the tension and harmony between structure and spontaneity, order and chaos, logic and imagination. They offer spaces of contemplation and vitality, where viewers might feel both grounded and transported, held and released.
