MIGUEL AGUILAR

I am Miguel Aguilar, an artist based in the South Bay of Los Angeles. My artistic journey began in the realm of cartooning, where I learned the power of characters and storytelling. From there, I evolved into creating abstract works that delve into the idea that simplicity breeds purity. In my current practice, I primarily use salvaged wood as my canvas, embracing the beauty of imperfections and the stories that each piece holds. This choice reflects my belief in sustainability and the connection between art and nature. Using inks, I explore the dynamic forces within ourselves and the world around us, seeking to evoke emotion and provoke thought. Through my art, I invite viewers to reflect on the complexities of human experience and the beauty found in simplicity. I aim to create a space for dialogue and contemplation, where one can appreciate the purity that emerges from stripped-down forms and honest expression.
